Uluru / Ayers Rock, Australia
It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. and is one of the most iconic symbol of Australia.
Uluru is a Aboriginal term for this piece of rock, and later named as Ayers Rock by surveyor William Gosse in honour of the Chief Secretary of South Australia, Sir Henry Ayers.
In different time of the day and year, Uluru will be showing different color, like a huge mirror reflecting the splendid and glory of nature.
In the morning when the sun just above the horizon, Uluru takes a reddish break around the dark. As the sun is rising, a delicate pink gradient will glisten and glitter.
At dusk, the rock turn from ocher red into purple and dark red, then slowly disappears to the embrace of the night.
Uluru has several hiking trails for visitors to have a close experience with this majestic heritage. You can explore the rock from all sides, enjoy its intimate and interesting details, examine caves and murals of former Aborginal residence along the walk.
These walks vary from 1 km return to 10.5 km loop walk. Signs are well marked.
Treks are flat and some are wheelchair accessible.

2. Due to the high temperatures at noon, better starts in the early morning and end before noon.
3. Make preventive measures to avoid nuisance from flies.
